When a Century-old Factory meets a Contemporary Weaver

Every scarf carries a story

Rooted in Tsuen Wan for over half a century, The Mills has evolved from a past textile factory into a community hub where ‘weavers’ and the public can get to know each other and interact.

This time, In Time Of Curatorial Team has organized the project “When a Century-old Factory meets a Contemporary Weaver” and invited the Japanese textile brand POLS, marking its first appearance in Hong Kong, to The Mills to share “The Story of Weavers and Scarves.”

Through showcasing POLS’ new collection of scarves for Fall/Winter 2024 and the stories of their production, the project explores the culture and history behind the brand. These scarves are not just fashion accessories but also a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Each scarf embodies the essence of jacquard weaving technology that has a history of over a hundred years, also showcases the unique perspectives and creativity of the designers.

We warmly invite everyone to the “When a Century-old Factory meets a Contemporary Weaver” project to explore the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, and experience the charm of textile art.
