Loserity: “Lost & Found”

Redefining success and failure, not letting your work take over your life –

The long working hours, high work pressure and frustrating work environment in Hong Kong have turned workers into soulless robots. In addition to physical fatigue, the challenges encountered in the workplace have also exhausted workers. In a market-driven economy, success and failure are given particular importance. With smartphones, glamorous stories are at everyone’s fingertips. Even leisure browsing on social media may prompt people to make unnecessary social comparisons, reducing their self-esteem and making them feel like losers. People reject mistakes and disapprove of any room for improvement, making them hide their true selves to avoid being perceived as failures.

The physical and mental wellbeing of workers has always been a major focus of the “In Time Of” programme. According to the World Happiness Report published by the United Nations in March 2023, Hong Kong has dropped one spot to rank 82nd out of 137 countries and regions, indicating that the wellbeing of Hongkongers must not be ignored. In response, In Time Of: Sports Date has organised the “Loserity” at the Mills to explore the topic of “failure” and encourage the public to redefine success and failure.

From June 15 to August 1, the “Lost & Found” will showcase the failure stories of members from various sectors of society, including their meaningful “lost items” and real-life experiences. Whether you are a white-collar office worker, a blue-collar labourer, a caregiver, a job seeker, unemployed or retired… regardless of your role in society, you are welcome to see the exhibited items and listen to our participants’ failure stories as well as their reflections on restarting their lives. Let’s encourage and care for each other whilst embracing failure.

In Time Of 2023: Sports Date

Nan Fung’s In Time Of 2023, “Be prepared for the ever-changing world. Be the better person.”

Caring for physical and mental health is the theme of this year’s In Time Of programme “Sports Date”. The much-anticipated event “Sports Day” will be held in Airside, Kai Tak in November. Since March, a year-long programme focusing on the practice of self-care has been rolled out, aiming to keep us healthy through various activities, exhibitions, training, workshops and games.
